I’m a wife, vineyard and winery owner, dog lover, photographer and drone operator, and CrossFit coach. I started my CrossFit journey in 2019. My consistency gave me the most healthy habit I’ve taken on, friendships I never knew I needed, a Christian community I knew I was missing, and a fun coaching gig after getting my L1 in 2021. As a kid in the 80s and 90s, I was considered a gym rat, a gymnastics gym rat, to be precise. I was in the competitive stages as a child, although not very good, but it transferred into coaching gymnastics through my high school and college years. When I moved to the area in 2010, I spent a couple of years coaching at the local gymnastics club. It’s something you can never really let go of when you were practically raised in one. That might have been the primary reason I decided to start CrossFit; it was basically an adult gymnastics gym, I thought. I was right, kind of. It is so much more! I learned an adult body does not swing into a muscle-up like a child who used to do a dozen glide kips at once. I may not be that agile kid, but I am the strongest I have ever been in my life, and that is because I decided to commit. Consistency is key in life and in the gym.
